Bunuel’s Exterminating Angel just cuts out - sometimes leaving the audience waiting for more, echoing the film’s narrative of guests unable to leave a dinner party.

and

George Maciunas’s End After Nine the title and the ‘end’ are on screen for minutes but the counting from 1 to 9 lasts nine frames ...

In reference to the question; what relationships are there between ‘rupture’ and ‘the real’? (for example in non-experimental work where ‘the real’ breaks through).

Thanks

Rob

Dear colleagues,

Could you please tell me in which films (mostly non-experimental, but experimental is also ok) we can observe the film's rupture and the involving of film (as material) into the fictional world (just like in Bergman's Persona & Peter Tscherkassky's Outer Space)? The examples with the premeditated and non-accidental scrathes are also worth a lot.
Thanks in advance

Best Regards,
Anastasia
