Jonas Mekas asked me to post his response to the thread regarding looking
for prints and Brakhage's Lovemaking:
Fred, you are really joking because I would never say anytihng against any
of Stan's films, because they are all great in their own ways. Where did
you pull out that kind of nonsense, me saying whatever against LOVEMAKING?
We all voted it into Anthology's Essential Cinema repertory collection an
it will always remain there no matter who says what. I like it and please
retract your invented reference to me because I never said anything
against the film. LOVEMAKING is undetachable part of Stan's poetic work and
it's almost ridiculous to argue about it. Obsenity doesn't exist in art.
It exists only in life. Now, we can argue abut that... But not about Stan's
film.
