I've read the rules. They:

1) exempt all individuals from any requirements, even tripods,

2) exempt all demonstrations and protest rallys from permit requirements,
except vehicles-- even allowing tripods. This, of course, makes LIARS of those
critics who were trying to exploit this phony complaint.

3) even allow RIGGING without permits for under 30 minutes (try getting that
anywhere else.)

You guys have a good deal right now. If they modify the rules, here's what
they'll do:

1) Make a distinction between commercial/amateur use, which means mandatory
permits for ANY client purposes-- (congrats., you just blew your free
half-hour allowance, and your solo unlimited rights..)

2) They'll modify-- not eliminate- the insurance requirement-- but impose it
on ALL commercial work.

3) Require rigging permits that block public areas-- no 30 minute freebie
any more.

These new rules are extremely generous. You're going to be disappointed when
rules remain. There never was an idyllic time of "no rules." None of you
guys are going to be happy with any kind of restrictions-- and restrictions
there will be.
