Kodak sells black coated 16mm single perf spacing with the product number 8650 8905630. It costs £90 / $ 135 US approx for 2000 feet ( 2 x 1000' rolls in a can, minimum purchase one can). It has a resin coating that behaves almost exactly like film emulsion except that it takes a bit longer to bleach off, Nicky Hamlyn. -----Original Message----- From: black hole cinematheque/archive <blackholecinema_at_gmail.com> To: frameworks_at_jonasmekasfilms.com Sent: Wed, 21 Sep 2011 23:37 Subject: Re: [Frameworks] Help! i don't know if people have already mentioned this but a good way to start if you can't find any black or clear leader and want a clean slate is to get any already developed film and strip the emulsion off of it to have a base you can draw or paint on. you can hand scratch it off with various things like razor blades or the like which can create interesting patterns to work with but there are also a number of ways to strip the entire emulsion off by soaking it or scrubbing areas, i've used bleach and water mixtures before, don't know if there is something better, everyone has their own technique. but it is a good way to start. _______________________________________________ FrameWorks mailing list FrameWorks@jonasmekasfilms.com https://mailman-mail5.webfaction.com/listinfo/frameworks
