I think the idea is more to show dissatisfaction with the possibility of
decreased professional-level support. It's the sort of thing that needs to
have a massive public response immediately in order to have any effect. I
agree that the language of the petition is strong, but if everyone had to
take the time to try it and explore it completely, we'd be a couple years
down the road, user disapproval would be fragmented, and Apple would be well
on its way to making FCP an iOS-only application. If there's any hope of
making an impact (which is admittedly slim), like I said, we've got to move.

As I see it, FCPX is not a danger in and of itself, but why yank FCP7? Also,
I can't understand why they would hold back features to re-integrate later.
And for that fact, why can't you bring in old projects? Very fishy.
