You shouldn't need to open the PDF file into a word processing program. If
you click where it says "Download the 5.1 submission form," the PDF should
open up on the screen. You can then click in each field (title, running
time, etc.) and type. Then when you are finished filling it out you can save
a copy to your hard drive, print, etc. At least, this is how it is working
for me, using both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.

In other words, I do not know how to open a pdf file into a word
processing program so I can type on it. I use an iMac, any suggestions.
I know how to paint on film and punch holes in it mostly.

I downloaded the entry form and printed it out. I had two films to
submit. The entry forms specify (MUST BE TYPED). This is not
convenient and I do not even know how I would do that. So I started
to print very neatly, then I reconsidered, what if these guys are
jerks and will keep my money and my submission dvds and disregard my
entry because I didn't put this form in a typewriter and hand printed
instead. Generally I get a feeling from most "film festivals" that
something exploitative and sleezy is going on anyway. So I am just
going to forget about it.
