REFLECTIONS
a film and video screening in conjunction
with Dean Smith and Dean Byington's concurrent exhibitions.

The program connects the exhibited artists' work with the work of film artists
through themes of gesture and landscape, of the mind's fantastical spaces, and
of narrative and abstraction. The idea of reflection, in both literal and
metaphorical senses, is used to illuminate, expand, and comment upon Smith's
drawings and Byington's paintings.
The program lasts about 75 minutes and features
o brief video excerpts from films by Andrei Tarkovsky
o a selection from "thought forms" - Dean Smith's recently expanded and
revised video
o and the following films screened in 16mm
