What I meant is that it is not taught in film school, at least in the ones I
attended. The courses were focused on specific topics
(cinematography,editing,etc...), rather than in questions like the ones you
adressed. I believe that is the kind of stuff that SHALL be taught in film
school.

PS
Also that I thought that in general that kind of knowledge is (or shall be)
part of the student cultural background.
