Yeah, I think late night editing sessions or watching projected films right
before bed will do that.

Anyone else have the experience of having the clock radio go on while still
sleeping, and the news stories become part of your dreams, to the point where
you are in the action? It makes for great REM sleep and also a great source
of ideas.

I too have often experienced these vivid and somewhat persistent
after images and have been known to sit up and yell loudly at the
apparitions, blink a few times, until they finally go away or become
awake enough to realize they are not "real", or, if I happen to like
them, attempt going back to sleep in order to continue, but alas,
the dream is never the same after that.
