There are some tricks to do a tiny bit of rewind:

So it is possible to fudge it a little and some
cameras would pull similar tricks to do in camera
dissolves and stuff!
So there you are! I bet a few of you will create some
magical double exposure S8 films using this method!
Then there is the near mythical ewa cartridge
rewinder. They do exist I know I've seen pictures of
them, and sanpix cameras too, unicorns even! :)
Wish I could spend more time to say more but I'm
literally 6-8 months behined on EVERYTHING! (including
the washing up) so must woosh!
