Shorts screening and discussion with Volatile Works

  March 22, 7:30 pm at 51 3rd Street in Troy NY
and March 24th, 6:00 pm in NYC at the Tank

Montreal-based media art collective Volatile Works
(www.volatileworks.org) is coming to NYC on the weekend of March 24th
to screen some of our works at the New York Experimental Series at
The Tank. We are always interested in meeting up with other New York-
based collectives, artists, writers, politicos, and the curious for
future exchanges and collaborations. All the

New York Experimental, The Tank's monthly experimental film and video
screening series, is pleased to present an evening of works by
Montreal based media arts collective, Volatile Works. * All artists
from the collective will be present at the screening.

Volatile Works is a five member autonomous film and media arts
collective that has been active in Montr�al, Qu�bec since 2003.
Their
works embrace a range of mediums, genres, and spaces of intervention
(from protests to screenings), with a marked affinity for lo-fi/DIY
tactical forms of production and engagement. They have appeared in
over one hundred film and new media festivals in over twenty-eight
countries around the
  world. They organize regular screenings and
events, and have collaborated with other collectives and bands on
community-based screenings, workshops in activist video, and music
videos. Their practices include digital video, super-8, 16mm,
animation, web art, sound, installation, and DIY of all kinds. For
