Never tried, hadn't felt it was needed.
You can manual thread, but it's a hassle.
I also have a big pedestal Xenon Eiki, 9120. Manual thread, geneva.
Got it govt. surplus with three spare lamps, 122 hours on it, for $50.
But it's no Eastman 25 -- the best 16mm projector.
