Check out the last three films by Gus Van Sant (Gerry, Elephant, Last
Days). These are some of the most interesting sounding films I've
heard in years, thanks to both sound designer Leslie Shatz and the
use of soundscape compositions by Hildegard Westerkamp as part of the
sound design (in the last two).
