hi Zev, I just watched a horrible dvd copy of
"Porgy and Bess" last night & then this morning
listened to a mp3 of billie holiday singing
"Summertime" ... and, while I enjoyed both
situations and was glad that they were recorded,
I really would have rather been there to hear
billie sing, and would have loved to see "Porgy
and Bess" on the big screen. I've heard they have
a copy at the Museum of Moving Images & am
thinking about calling up to see if I can get
a print of Sammy Davis Jr. as "Sportin' Life,"
in order to make a poster of it.
