I love Billie Holiday, even when her voice was shot and the recordings live and not that great and with background noise. her music defines quality, as far as I'm concerned, whether it's on cd, mp3, or vinyl played on an old grammophone.
there are other factors in determining beauty and quality besides the media and technology, I would think.
I agree. And I think the situation is even more grave than this. Many are willing to sacrifice their CD quality sound for the convenience of MP3s! That is a shift in quality less subtle and yet a leap that the general populace seems to make rather easily.
So again, we have another case of beauty/artistic intent jettisoned for the sake of convenience.
