Cineworks independent filmmakers society
in vancouver, bc, canada has an oxberry optical
printer that can do
35 to 35, 16 to 35, 35 to 16, or 16 to 16.
it also has an aerial projector.
quite a nice set up. rents relatively cheaply too.
however, it has some alignment issues, a possible
shutter problem, and needs an overal tune-up. they
haven't "found anyone" to take a look at it. i
haven't had any problems on any of my films, although
two people who were doing 35mm work had some weird
unexplained flash frames which they found went away
when they worked in total darkness.
if anyone can recommend someone who does oxberry
repairs in the vancouver, british columbia area, that
would be most appreciated. I'd like to see this baby
at the very least least get a nice routine tune-up.
