Presented by Peripheral Produce and the Northwest Film Center, The 2006
Portland Documentary and eXperimental Film Festival (PDX) is a five-day
exposition dedicated to showcasing new innovative film and video. Focusing
on non-narrative works that go against the grain of mainstream
entertainment, the PDX Film Festival is looking for artistic, underground,
quirky and challenging work that reflects contemporary culture, documents
historic oddities, or might be deemed as unclassifiable. Categories:
experimental, documentary, abstract, underground. All lengths accepted.
Formats: 35mm, 16mm, Beta SP, DV. Preview on VHS or DVD.

how to enter:

Please go to our website to download an entry form and carefully read the
entry guidelines. Entries must be submitted on NTSC VHS tape or DVD, and
should be accompanied by a completed entry form, a one page description
and/or artist's statement, an entry fee, and any additional materials that
you feel are important.

PLEASE CLEARLY MARK ALL TAPES OR DVDS WITH TITLE, RUNNING TIME, DIRECTOR’S
NAME AND E-MAIL ADDRESS. PLEASE LABEL DIRECTLY ON TAPE OR DVD, AS CASES
EASILY GET MIXED UP!

Entries must be postmarked on or before January 20, 2006.

ENTRY FEES:

$25 for entries postmarked after December 16 but before January 20, 2006.
Entry fees must be in U.S. funds. Checks or money orders should be made out
to Peripheral Produce. Entry Fees are not required from filmmakers who
have previously screened at PDXFF in the past. Filmmakers living and
working in Portland Oregon are also exempt from the entry fee.

If you would like to enter multiple short works from the same artist, you
may do so with an entry fee of $5 per additional title. Titles may be on
the same videocassette or DVD, but each must have its own entry form.

SHIPPING

Cost of shipping preview copies and exhibition prints to the festival is the
responsibility of the entrant. Preview tapes and DVDs will not be returned.
  If you are shipping your entry via Fed Ex, UPS, or the like, please
authorize delivery without signature.

SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

Programming decisions are made by the festival selection committee.
Selections will be announced by April 1. If accepted, the exhibition copy
of your film or video will need to be in our office by April 15, 2006.
