Jeff,

I like the detailed Techniscope info and I agree it might be expensive
to finish 2-perf photochemically.

Probably the leading conversion engineering house for converting 35mm
to 2 perf Techniscope would be Bruce McNaughton at
http://www.arandafilm.com.au/.

I have initiated a conversation with Bruce of the possibility of
converting an Eclair ACL to UltraPan8 format which utilizes a native
format with an aspect ratio = 2.8:1 and is wider than
Cinema/Techniscope, i.e.

UltraPan8 cameras are a hybrid of Bolex H8/H16 bodies using the full
width of 16mm wide Regular 8mm film but with the 8mm pulldown.

Standard 16mm optics provide full coverage and are optically centered.
The viewfinder is also natively masked UP8 with additional Cinemascope
markings. Running time is doubled relative to 16mm film loads. Imaging
area is increased by 113% and 39% relative to R8 and S8 formats.

We recently located a native UP8 projector in the UK.

Cheers!

Nicholas
