A lot of what you'll find is geared to still film, but that's not necessarily a problem. You already know that you're generally dealing with longer rolls, and that you're not always intending to print the film. Some things (such as how often to turn the knob) are specific to the tank you are using, so if you tell us exactly what equipment you have, someone on this list will probably have a quick answer for you!

And yes, processing as reversal is different from processing as negative. It will involve more steps and more chemicals, including a reversal bleach & re-exposure of the film.

Where are you located? Many urban centers still have photo clubs or co-op darkrooms where you may be able to get advice (or take a class) and use the facilities.
