[Frameworks] kodaliths +35mm

re: Kodalith--Miroddi in NYC, yes! they know the old-school ways, helpful
and inexpensive.

re: 35mm. So many workflows. It took me almost a year to figure out how to
do this in away that made sense to my circumstances and project. Everything
was shot in super 8 then transferred to digital (Cinelicoius). I considered
blowing up directly from s8 to 35 since it was technically possible *at
school* (couldnt afford it otherwise), but I didnt have capability to edit
in 35mm nor was I sure of how to handle soundtrack in this manner. We have a
Dig-to-film printer at school that my grad student miraculously discovered
could take a 35mm gate (with a little persuasion) so once we actaully found
the 35mm gate erp, I bought some short ends and did tests, aok. It was set
up for 16mm though so I had to do a few workarounds regarding framing, due
to the osundtrack being inside teh sprockets right? Had to go back into FCP
and re-frame and re-export. Anyway yeah. Shot s8, cut digital, reshot the
whole finished cut including titles onto 35 from the uncompressed quicktime,
sent digital soundtrack to NT Audio for optical, everything landed at
Colorlab where marriage took place. I realize this may be idiosyncratic, so
what else is new?
