Hi Myron I've supervised quite a few but now prefer to do my own grading.
Yes you can store specific grades (and variations of grades on an
individual scene,
they can be applied to other scenes etc etc..
Try & get a meet / demo with the colorist you'll be using; scope
him/her/room/gear/out.
Bring examples (new BY Brakhage DVD for instance)
A flat grade to ProResHQ as per Rob is the probably the best DIY choice here...
Get what you want, don't settle.
I find usually they know cinema pretty well, some don't know specifics
of film emulsions
as well as they might....
