Schwechater was built from several very precise mathematical rules,
carefully followed during the printing and cutting. These rules have
been reproduced in several books about Peter. Arnulf Rainer is like a
musical score, freely elaborated while following looser mathematical
principles which are nevertheless coherent and organic. The score has
also been reproduced. (In fact it is the only surviving score of his
metric films. He intended to destroy them all but this one got lost
before he did so, and was later found after the others were gone.)
