I hope that you are well today. We are currently running two competitions
here at Aesthetica and I wanted to provide you with a little bit of
information on these in the hope that you could pass the details on to your
contacts and members at Dark Horse Films.
Aesthetica International Short Film Competition
Many thanks for your previous help in passing on the information about the
Short Film Competition - we have had a fantastic response from filmmakers in
the USA. The competition closes for entry THIS FRIDAY and I was hoping that
you might just be able to remind your members and contacts at Dark Horse
Films of the impending deadline, so that any interested filmmakers don't
miss out on the opportunity! With regards to getting films to us in time, as
long as the entry fee is received by the 30 April then we are happy to
receive DVDs up until 15 May, as we appreciate that overseas postage can
take a while.
* Accepting all genres of film from animation to documentary and music video
to artists' film.
* Films should be no longer than 25 minutes running time.
* No restrictions on production date.
* Deadline: 30 April

* Prizes include: screenings at National Media Museum, Rushes Soho Shorts,
Glasgow Film Fest, Kerry Film Fest, Hull Film Fest and Project Space Leeds;

Aesthetica Magazine).

Aesthetica Creative Works Competition 2010 - Now Open For Entries Until 31
The popular annual Aesthetica Creative Works Competition is now open for
entries! The competition is internationally recognised for identifying new
artists and writers and bringing them to global attention. Previous
finalists have achieved success and recognition with accolades including:
writing commissions from Channel 4, selection to represent Australia in the
Florence Biennale, exhibitions at DACS (London), John Martin Gallery
(London), Flores Fine Art Gallery (New York), inclusion in the
International Drawing Competition exhibition (Poland) and the National
Geographic International Photographic exhibition.
* The Competition has three categories, Artwork, Poetry and Fiction.
* Winners and finalists are published in the Aesthetica Creative Works
* Winners of each category receive 500 prize money.
* Entry to the Creative Works Competition is 10.
* The entry fee allows the submission of 2 images, 2 poems or 2 short
* Poems must be no more than 40 lines each.
* The deadline for submissions is the 31st August 2010.
