I have been doing my own negative cutting since the 70's and encourage all filmmakers to learn how to perform this task. There are fewer and fewer negative cutters every year. Hardly anyone anymore even knows how to perform a cement splice. Learning this process could help create and new job for starving filmmakers. Since the service is more and more scarce, it is more and more expensive. It could be specialty job for many filmmakers.
