Lundgren,

I just did some poking around on the AVS forum. For US versions, it
seems there are no firmware mods for the Oppo BDP-80, at least not
yet. However, there are for the BDP-83, but they are not listed in the
first post on the BDP-83 technical talk thread, although I previously
stated they were. So, you will have to use the search function to
locate such info. There are recent posts about recent region-free
firmware.

How this would apply to European versions of the Oppo BDP-83, I am not
sure. But, I believe it is someone in Europe who came up with the
region-free firmware mods for the US version. So, search that thread,
and you may find info on using firmware mods on European Oppos. If you
don't, don't be afraid to ask questions. The people there are very
helpful.
