Dear Frameworkers,

In the spirit of the new decade, I am excited to announce the debut of INCITE's monthly interview series, "Back & Forth." In the first installment, Cat Tyc talks to Michael Robinson about his filmmaking roots, cultural references, thematic trajectories, and future directions:

This interview will also appear in the second issue of INCITE, "Counter-Archive," which goes online in early 2010, and into print later this spring.

More about INCITE #2, Counter-Archive:

This issue aims at addressing practices of repurposing found sound and image in light of their particular histories and contemporary transformations in media economies and ownership. It proposes the archive as a site for creative intervention, one that enables new possibilities for preserving and representing individual memory within a larger historical consciousness.

Contributors include: Cory Arcangel, Dave Barber, Michael Betancourt, Aleesa Cohene, Bruce Conner, Amelia Does, Walter Forsberg, Sandra Gibson and Luis Recoder, Noam Gonick, Brett Kashmere, Evan Meaney, Julie Perini, Jenny Perlin, Tasman Richardson, Michael Robinson, Ben Russell, Brittany Shoot, Bart Testa, Ryan Tebo, Cat Tyc, William C. Wees, and more.

A supplementary DVD will feature films and videos by Noam Gonick, Jason Orman, Bryan Konefsky, Nicola Bergstrom & Valdemar Lindekrantz, Tasman Richardson, Simon Aeppli, Penny Lane & Jessica Bardsley, Jo SiMayala Alcampo, Evan Meaney, Philip Widmann and a video-game by I LOVE PRESETS!

And watch for a conversation between Close-Up's Damien Sanville and the Japanese experimentalist Takahiko Iimura online in February!

All best,
Brett
