Thanks to Marilyn for posting the link to the film. Taken together,
the commercial and this short film actually do convince me that this
director has probably seen some Brakhage. The DVD is a likely suspect,
as it has both "Dog Star Man" and "The Act of Seeing with one's own
eyes." And the short film is a little more visually diverse and alive
than the commercial.
I hope someone will take the time to find a way to contact Mr. Sayeed
and ask him if he's seen Brakhage films, and considers them an
influence. No hostility intended here -- the short film, at least,
seems pretty sincere.
