I don't recall ever rejecting a submission for handwriting
but it we want to get ahold of you and we can't read your address or email or phone number that could be a problem.

If yes, is "something exploitative and sleazy" going on, or do they do it in the name of "narrowing" the entry pool? If they do it in the name of narrowing the entry pool, isn't that exploitative and sleazy? Why aren't festivals responsive to technical questions about their selections process like Myron's?

So I started to print very neatly, then I reconsidered, what if these guys are jerks and will keep my money and my submission dvds and disregard my entry because I didn't put this form in a typewriter and hand printed instead. Generally I get a feeling from most "film festivals" that something exploitative and sleezy is going on anyway. So I am just going to forget about it.

>>> Experiments in Cinema V5.1 (a Basement Films production in collaboration with UNM’s Department of Cinematic Arts) is currently seeking submissions for our 5th annual celebration of international, cinematic experimentation. This year’s festival will take place in Albuquerque April 15-18, 2010. We encourage all moving image artists creating unembedded, undependent, underground, experimental, personal, and wildly imaginative media to submit to our festival (postmark deadline for submissions is December 10, 2009… though if materials are dated a day or two later we will happily accept your work for consideration!!). See www.basementfilms.org and click in Experiments in Cinema V5.1 for details.
