35mm editing equipment

Hello frameworkers,

I'm a second year undergrad from Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema
studying experimental cinema with Richard Kerr and
I would like to know if any of you have an idea on where I could grab
some 35mm editing equipment for cheap or even for free ?
We have a 35mm steenbeck at the school but it can be accessed within
certain permission hours only. On top of that, the type of work I'm
doing is Darkroom-based and only master students have access to the
school's darkroom; I would really like to get my own equipment and
work at home with my light table as long as I want; I think that my
project would really benefit from extended hours because it's my first
time with 35mm and I need to do a lot of tests. Basically I'm looking
for a splicer (ideally CIR), rewinds and gang syncs.

If you have any advice for me please contact off-list.

Thank you very much and I hope I don't bother to put that kind of post
in the discussion list.

Philippe Leonard
