program is new, but growing fast, and in several interesting directions.

The University of Rhode Island
Assistant Professor, Film Media

This is an academic year, tenure-track appointment beginning July of
2010.

Teach introductory and advance undergraduate courses, engage in
scholarly research and/or creative work, advise students and engage in
other kinds of professional service contributing to the Program's
governance.

Required Qualifications: PhD in Film Studies or related
field with a strong background in production, and/or an MFA in Film &
Video or related field with a strong background in film history,
theory and criticism; evidence of teaching experience; demonstrated
potential in the area of Production in at least one of the following:
digital video production, narrative media, screenwriting, web-based
technologies, interactive media, or other area in film, video or new
media
production; and demonstrated potential in the area of Critical
Studies in
at least one of the following: history and theory of film, aesthetics of
film and video, new media theory, world cinemas,
documentary theory and criticism, or other area in film or new media
studies.
