The Jarman Award winner is announced tonight - it's a £10,000 prize
for UK artists “to recognise artists working with the moving image
whose work, like Jarman’s, resists conventional definition,
encompassing innovation and excellence”
On Engine we've got two of the four shortlisted artists answering a
few questions. And some brief recollections/views of Jarman himself -
by James Mackay, David Curtis, Daniel Fawcett, Duncan Petrie, Jo
Comino, and even myself. And quite a lot from filmmaker Anna
Thew,that's really quite evocative of the time!
Plus a couple of vodcast extracts from an interview recorded by Jo
Comino for a City Limits article.
