Good morning, Mat -

Your point about cross-processing to get colours on a black background is a lovely way to go.
3ut that C41 neg 1st developer is a low contrast developer, so blacks on 7250 come out grey.
2 suggestions:
   - Replace the C-41 1st developer (a low contrast developer) with E-6 1st developer (a higher contrast developer).
OR
   - Use E-6 process on your 7250, and have the lab print it on the projection print stock normally used to print colour neg.
Print stocks of all sorts have strong contrast and hi D-max compared to their original neg. counterparts.
OR
   - Use E-6 process but don't use the "Reversal" step chemical. I think your image will then come out as a neg. I think.
