isn't the key in the phrase "non-profit", I'm guessing the venue may
hope to pay their overheads.

A few questions: are you going to be there introducing the films and
doing a Q&A? or are you sending them a dvd? are they showing your
films every day? is it a major retrospective? or are they screening
them in the cafe on a loop? there's a lot of variables that aren't
clear from your posting.

normally I'd recommend a door split, especially if the filmmaker was
present, and I say this as both somebody who tours movies and
somebody who programs movies, but economics / audience numbers can be
tricky.

BTW collective bargaining - isn't that what a filmmaker's coop does?
