I have (had?) a much-loved loop piece for 16mm film
"Quote by Carl SAgan"
that I made for a screening at the Protues Gowanus Gallery in Bklyn in 2006--it was meant as a pre-show piece to be playing as people entered the gallery and looked at other works int eh exhibition. The loops was quite short and just barely made it through the projector path so I could soon see it would not be long for this world. It played as long as it could, scraped scratched and ripped and when it finally fell apart I began the screening proper.
I hadn't intended it's destruction; those were the circumstances and I just let happen what must. Luckily I had a video camera there that I was using as a deck for other works so I shot some part of the loop which you can see a tiny piece of here:

Also seeing Jonathan's mention of my early works with Bradley Eros made me stop to remember... so much of what we did in the late 80's /early 90's was never documented so remains unknown except for those who were present. Hence ephemeral.

as my own thoughts turn towards spring,
Jeanne
