Re: Warhol on video (authorized)

Record Straightening Now!

I believe the first Warhol film ever released on video(tape) was
Lonesome Cowboys. It came out in the UK in the early 80's while Warhol
was still alive and as far as I know was only available in PAL.

The second authorized (digital) video (disc) release of a Warhol film
was in 2006. Screen Test: Helmut was included on a compliation disc
entitled American Short Films put out by the UK's Cinema16. Other films
on that disc were Lawder's Necrology, Deren's Meshes of the Afternoon,
Van Sant's The Discipline of D.E., Pennebaker's Daybreak Express plus
shorts by Lucas, Burton, Solondz and Payne. A fairly varied collection.

#4. 13 Most Beautiful...

Microcinema International

This is very exciting and amazing, but I still gotta give props (as they
say) to Jeff Lambert and the NFPF: the Treasures IV DVD set, coming out
this Tuesday 3/2/09, is ACTUALLY the first ever authorized DVD release
of a film by Andy Warhol (containing Mario Banana #1)!
