In either case, however, an NDA may not be entirely suitable. Forgive me if the following is all known to you, but may be useful for others....
There are two types - mutual and non-mutual. Mutual binds both parties, and can cause problems if the other party inadvertently (or deliberately) contributes intellectual property that you had already thought of (but cannot prove). You are then not free to use or disclose it.
Non-mutual simply protects the disclosing party (you, in this case) and prevents the other party from exploiting your disclosed information. You should use that (if any). But it is often difficult to get third parties to sign non-mutual NDAs if they think they are going to be contributing IP.
I'd be wary of relying on an NDA to protect yourself. They are particularly difficult to enforce after brainstorming sessions where everyone pitches in. To maximise your protection, file dated copies of your ideas prior to disclosure - by posting to your bank for safe deposit or even to yourself by registered post (to establish date of posting) in a carefully sealed envelope (don't open it!).. After each meeting/disclosure, ensure that you circulate notes of the disclosure to all participants.
Note that I'm not a lawyer - just have to use NDAs a lot in my work, so someone else on the list with legal qualifications may well wish to correct or add to some of the above.
