On one occasion, when a DVD went missing in the post and the festival suddenly realised I wasn't on the same continent so a replacement wouldn't be quick, I managed to send a DVD format MPEG 2 file via one of these services which they succesfully burnt to a DVD and all was well. (There were a few teething problems but we sorted it!)

They were compiling all the films onto a single dvd anyway so having the original physical dvd was kind of pointless.

It's a good way of overcoming long distances and the problems involved.
