films dealing with power

Regarding the request for films dealing with power, I suggest my own
work, "Other Reckless Things" that acknowledges official structures
of medical power and subverts them. The film was inspired by a
newspaper account of a woman who performed a Caesarean section on
herself with a pocketknife and confronts the medical industrial
complex's childbirth practices as they rely on the vulnerability of
their clients and subject women to authoritarian reproductive
technologies. The film's de-romanticized footage of an actual
childbirth has created discomfort in audiences and once a women
fainted while watching the film. Canyon and FilmMakers Coop rent it.
It is also available with live spoken sound/text by Ellen Zweig.
