Seeing Satantango in the theater was a totally transformative experience in my life (and an hour or so of watching it cured a particularly nasty hangover, despite my coffee being confiscated at the PFA door- truth!) It's my favorite film- but I can't get through it on DVD. 7 1/2 hours of watching light projected through film is blissful and restorative, while something about staring at a TV/ computer screen that long makes my brain and body tired.
The intersection of art and politics is a worthy subject- but it would be nice if it wasn't just assumed that everyone on this list is an Obama supporter.
