Hi -

Jaakko Kurhi's site is here:
http://www.jkcamera.com/

He's still around and serviced our optical printer late last year. But
as for buying one, his website says that they're not taking any new
orders for optical printers....

By the way, I'd be curious to know if anyone has tried out his film to
digital optical printer? It seems he's adapted the printer to integrate
a DSLR camera instead of a Bolex.

Thanks,
Carl

The funky J-K models (possessed by FAF and SFAI among others) were long said to be manufactured by a guy named Jako (sp?) who, it was said, lived in Oakland (like at SFAI they used to say, "I guess we need to call Jako.." whenever the thing was being weird.) The deal is... I got the impression that like many of his apparent ilk, this Jako was kind of hard to track/nail down most of the time and I get the sense that mayve he was no longer around (as in no longer available/in the biz). Does anyone know the whereabouts of Jako??
