Good question. Although I've written extensively on found footage/collage films, I've never discovered the original source of the term. It's a bit like "underground film," for which there are several candidates as originator of the term.

Subject: the term found-footage

Dear Frameworkers,

does anybody knows when, where and by whom the term "found-footage"
was invented, replacing the older term "collage" for those films?

Thanx in advance for any hint,

Marcel
