Dear filmmakers and colleagues,

Wavelengths, the avant-garde programme of the Toronto International Film
Festival, is currently seeking new works for its 8th edition, to take place
over the opening weekend of TIFF from September 5 through 8, 2008. In recent
years, this programme has featured works by Peter Hutton, Daichi Saito, Ute
Aurand, Heinz Emigholz, among many others, and has become a unique forum for
international film and video within the context of a large, international
festival.

As the series is considered curated, there is no official submission
process, no forms to fill out and no entry fee. All previews should be sent
by June 3rd directly to:

Wavelengths, TIFF
Attention: Andréa Picard
2 Carlton St, suite 1600
Toronto, ON M5B 1J3

Tel: 1.416.934.3208

Please contact me in advance if you prefer to send a film print for preview.
Other than prints, previews will not be returned to the filmmaker, unless
they are picked up in person or the return shipping is pre-arranged.

Only successful candidates will be notified (by mid-July at latest).

Wavelengths strides to provide a thoughtfully curated platform for
avant-garde film and video within one of the busiest and most diverse
festivals in the world. Building on its past successes, Wavelengths is
presently looking for new works, as well as recent restorations of seminal
works from the avant-garde. Presentation formats include Super 8, 16mm,
35mm, digi-beta, mini-DV and betacam PAL and ntsc. Programming suggestions
are equally welcome.

Thanking you in advance for your interest in Wavelengths,
