For the record, I've shown a few of Nicky's films in the Onion City festival
so some have shown in Chicago. Last year I showed his 16mm loop film
"Risoni" which, along with many others of his, is quite wonderful.

The Media City festival in Windsor, Ontario, Canada also regularly shows his
work.

So Nicky has a couple of North American groupie festivals!

Chuck's larger point is right, though, that it is often external factors
rather than disinterest that prevents non-U.S. work being seen in the states
and vice-versa.

When we have a giant experimental film digital server in the sky and all the
grassroots venues, microcinemas, small specialty festivals, etc. all have
million dollar digital projectors and broadband access, then we won't have
to worry! Everything will be available to everyone. Beam Mr. Brakhage down,
Scotty!

Best,

Patrick
