Hi Masha!
Well this is an oldie but goodie: Art in Cinema by Frank Stauffacher,
from the landmark 1947 symposium on avant garde cinema in SF--it has
great notes and a unique detailed section on the recreaton of
soundtracks, as in, which record and which cut was used. I've learned
alot from this book.
