Hi Masha,
I've done a book on Cinema 16 ("Cinema 16: Documents
Toward a History of the Film Society"), which is available
from Temple University Press in hard back and paper. A
companion volume, "Art in Cinema: Documents Toward a
History of the Film Society," is also available from
Temple, but (dammit) only in hardback. Both are much
involved in issues of programming and curating; the books
focus on two of the most influential film societies in
American history.
A third book, "Canyon Cinema: The Life and Times of an
Independent Film Distributor," will be available from
University of California in January; it's also relevant.

Best,
Scott
