HDFEST Call for Entries- Experimental Films at HD resolution

HDFEST is now seeking entries of films for its 2008 Festival Events
for the Experimental HD Short Film category and the Experimental HD
Feature Film Category.

HDFEST 2008 marks the organization's 9th year of celebrating High-
Definition filmmaking. The festival screens exclusively movies shot
with Hi-Def or HDV cameras or animation rendered at HD resolution.
All festival content is also projected using HD technology. Festival
events have been taking place since 2000. Festivals take place
annually in the UK, Finland, New York City, Seoul and Los Angeles.
HDFEST also includes panels and seminars on digital filmmaking and HD
technology. HDFEST is open to submissions of experimental films and
experimental animation created using HD or HDV technology. All movies
must have been completed after January 2006.

HDFEST also gives out the annual HDFEST Deffie Awards recognizing
achievement in HD independent moviemaking. The Deffie Awards offer
prizes of filmmaking equipment and software in over 20 categories
offered exclusively to High-Definition and HDV filmmakers. HDFEST
also has a unique festival category recognizing achievement in High-
Definition animated filmmaking and High-Definition experimental
filmmaking.

Early festival entry fee is only $50 for features and $40 for short

independent filmmaking and HD Animation. Since 2000, HDFEST has
known that high-def and digital cinema are the future of the
entertainment industry. Since that time, the festival has been at the
