The film I am speaking of is reversal film and is scratched on the base side. The scratches are clearly visible on the lighter parts of the film, areas where the image is darker the scratches hardly show up. Does anyone know if the emulsion thickness on kodak 7250 and 7285 are different?
I ask because my scratched film is 7250 and I saw some 7285 which came off the same machine and there were either less scratches or they were hardly visible.

longevity, and especially if it's acetate film. It's

However, rewashing sometimes helps with light emulsion
scratches and ground-in dirt. I know Colorlab in
Maryland specializes in this; they got some nice
results for me on a film I sent them which had base
and emulsion scratching, as well as some ground-in
dirt.
Depending on how bad your scratching is, maybe a
rewash followed by a wetgate print would work nicely.
