It looks set for our best and busiest year so far, and the season kicks off tonight with a birthday party concert - composer and long time artafterscience collabator Neil Rolnick is having a 60th birthday concert and will include a screening of my video Venetian Red with his Shadow Quartet as soundtrack. A very happy birthday and many thanks to him. (The great line up includes Todd Reynolds, whose has also been used in artafterscience projects). Sunday, October 14, 3pm (Pre-concert discussion at 2:30 pm), MOSA Concerts, 178 Bennett Ave, 1 block west of Broadway at 189th Street, NYC www.MOSAconcerts.org 914-523-9507.
After its success at ARCO 07 and the Venice Video Art Fair, La Noche Electoral created in collaboration with Los Torreznos will be showing at the VAD festival in Girona, Spain in October and at the Optica Festival, Gijon, Spain in November, along with a video programme that I have curated.
Also in November, I'm having a solo show in Valencia's alternative space La Sala Naranja that will include artafterscience projects along with my paintings and photographs. Other exhibitions and collaborations with La Sala Naranja are slated for the spring, including an international digital arts festival.
More artafterscience pieces will be shown in my solo show at Galeria Punto, Valencia in January and February . In London, at the same time, there will be an artaferscience installation in Chris Dyson's architectural office, using lights provided by iGuzzini, and smaller works will be showing in the iGuzzini offices at the Business Design Centre during the London Art Fair.
Other projects and exhibitions coming up in 2008. Info and clips and things at www.artafterscience.com
