ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: Media City is an annual international festival
of experimental film and video art presented in Windsor, Ontario by
House of Toast (a video production centre) and Artcite Inc. (an artist-run
centre for contemporary art). Each year Media City screens approximately
sixty new films and videos in all gauges and formats in its
international competition programs.The festival also presents
retrospective screenings
and discussions with featured artists, specialized symposia, multi-
disciplinary and "expanded cinema" performances, installations and
welcomes a legion of visiting artists from around the world.

MEDIA CITY IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE ITS 2007 AWARD WINNERS!

THE MEDIA CITY 13 FESTIVAL JURY:

HELGA FANDERL (Germany) was born in Ingolstadt and studied at the
Städelschule (Frankfurt) and at Cooper Union (New York). Since 1990 her
films have been exhibited at venues including the Deutsches
Filmmuseum (Frankfurt), Kino Arsenal (Berlin), Anthology Film
Archives (New York),
and the Centre Pompidou (Paris) and are in the collections of the Museum
für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt and the Louvre (Paris). Fanderl lives in
Paris and Frankfurt.

CHRISTOPHE BICHON (France) is a specialist trained in film preservation.
He has managed the collection and conservation projects of Light Cone
since 1999. Light Cone is a non-profit association based in Paris;
its primary
role is to distribute experimental film and video to cultural institutions
and festivals. With a catalogue of over 2,300 titles, Light Cone's
collection of experimental films is among more comprehensive in the world.

BART TESTA (Canada) is senior lecturer in Cinema Studies at Innis
College, University of Toronto. He is the author of several books
including Back and Forth: Early Cinema and the Avant-garde (1992) and
Spirit in the Landscape (1989). He also co-edited Pier Paolo
Pasolini: Contemporary Perspectives
(1994) and his essays on filmmakers such as Stan Brakhage, Jack Chambers
and Radley Metzger have appeared in numerous anthologies and journals.
