CALL FOR WORK
Impure Cinema: Hybrid Works Rupturing Media’s Boundaries

Studio 27, a San Francisco screening series that showcases experimental media, is looking for short videos and films for our next program, scheduled for August 2007. This show will focus on hybrid media.

Please share with us your films and videos that cross the limitations of particular mediums and/or works that defy genre classification. We are especially interested in screening works which call attention to their construction by the conventions of genre, and also pieces that confuse or highlight the distinction between different mediums, such as analog vs. digital imaging technologies.

We are requesting work less than 30 minutes in length on playable DVDs (all region), MiniDVs (NTSC), or data DVDs (as a Quicktime movie file, especially for digital animations). Please note that the copy you submit will be the screening master, so higher quality copies are preferred by us.

Submission Deadline (received by): August 1, 2007

Include with your submission a short filmmaker bio and a brief written description of the work, which includes mediums, year produced, duration, and country of origin. Also include a SASE if you would like your materials returned to you (only U.S. mail will be returned).
